How to delete your Vuba Vuba account

This section applies to the Vuba Vuba app (Google Play and App Store), published by Vuba Vuba Africa LTD. You can delete your account and the personal data linked to it at any time, in one of two ways:

Option 1: in the app

Open the Vuba Vuba app and sign in.
Go to Profile and tap Edit details.
Tap Delete account.
Confirm with Yes, delete account.

Your account is closed immediately and you can no longer sign in with it.

Option 2: by email (if you no longer have the app)

Send an email to cs@vubavuba.rw with the subject "Delete my account".
Include the phone number or email address registered on your account.
We may contact you on that phone number or email to confirm that the request comes from you. We process requests within 7 days.

If you have money left in your Vuba Vuba wallet, please contact us before deleting your account.

Data that is deleted

Your profile: name, email address, phone number, date of birth and profile photo.
Your saved delivery addresses and saved payment phone numbers.
Your login details, linked social sign-in (Google, Apple) and notification tokens.
Your cart and favourites.

This data is permanently erased or anonymised within 30 days of your request.

Data that is kept

Order history, invoices, payment and wallet transaction records. These are kept for up to 10 years to meet Rwandan tax and accounting obligations, to resolve disputes and refunds, and to prevent fraud. They are no longer linked to an active account and are not used for marketing.

Deleting some of your data without deleting your account
You can remove saved delivery addresses and saved payment phone numbers directly in the app at any time. To ask us to delete any other data while keeping your account, email cs@vubavuba.rw with the subject "Data deletion request" and tell us which data you want removed. We reply within 7 days.
